'A Growing Family'
The clients, who were a growing family, gave us the brief to design and install a better layout and finish for their kitchen/dining room with access to their garden. We were working on a very tight budget for this project, however still created a bright and contemporary space. The room now has patio doors leading out to decking in the garden, a new kitchen with a Quartz work surface, lighting to make more of a feature of the existing open shelves, more storage within the layout of the cupboards and a new complementary colour scheme.

'A Japanese Theme'
We created this bedroom thinking carefully about our clients’ love of the Japanese interior. These generally use neutral, natural colours, to provide a simple background. Interiors emphasize architecture, and as a result, provide a sense of geometric order. Black is very important in eastern interiors. The use of black in oriental rooms lends definition and form.

Our clients have a bedroom in a relatively new house in England, so we were very wary of creating a pastiche! However, exploring the Japanese culture and utilising some of the ideas into the scheme, we implemented a restful and calming bedroom that was minimal but inviting.

'Living Room with Stone Fireplace'
The before and after shots here show that even a very large stone fireplace can be worked into a scheme, by the use of scale and lighting. The glass shelving helps to push the focus from the fireplace and onto the walls, and the downlights further enhance this. A bigger picture above helps to balance the whole wall in which the fireplace previously dominated.

'Concept for Living Room Set'
We designed a cinema room within a basement for the recent Concept for Living magazines' home and garden show. We were given a 3m by 3m shell with just three walls to create a room. We installed a feature staircase with lights in each step, a built in ceiling which housed a screen and projector, a tiled floor and contemporary furniture and lighting. The room was set up to move through three different modes - daylight, mood lighting and cinema mode. In the final mode, the lights totally dimmed, the screen dropped down and the hidden projector played a DVD onto the screen. We received lots of very positive feedback from the show, as our room showed just what you can achieve in a limited space, utilising the parts of a house such as a basement or attic that are often overlooked in terms of design.
